Tuesday group update
2007/03/28
Just an update on last night. All together, 10 of us
made it. It was kind of crazy as people not only
arrived at different times, but there were also
customers in and out of the restaurant, which meant
that those working had to serve them. But, everybody
seemed to have a good time getting to know one
another. It is definitely a different crowd from what
we are used to, but some very open people, some more
open than others.
At one point, June disappeared, and I noticed she was sitting at a table at the opposite end of the restaurant. When we met this morning, she told me she was sharing the Gospel with two other customers. She also invited them to join us next week!
June will probably start having the group read through John or another gospel starting next week. Please keep this group in your prayers, especially new believers Dong-dong and Julia. A couple others may already be believers as well, just not sure, yet. Julie and Dora are the farthest away from the Gospel in terms of their understanding. They also seem to have more family pressure to continue in ancestor/idol worship. Praise God that although Susan is older than everybody else, she still fits in well with the group. Pray for Rena as I try to prepare her to help June more with leading the group. We'd like to see some of these folks getting some individual attention, especially Dong-dong, Julia and possibly Joy and Rex.

New Tuesday night group
2007/03/27
A couple of months ago, June started an evangelistic
group with some of her co-workers and customers at
the restaurant. There are about 6 or 7 people who
regularly attend. Some of these folks she meets with
regularly one-on-one. Sometimes it's to read the
Bible, sometimes, it's to pray, and sometimes it's
just to chat. As we've said before, June is obviously
gifted in evangelism. She believes 3 or 4 of those
people have already made decisions for Christ!
As we've talked about it, it became clear that she needs help with follow-up and to run the group. So, we've decided to combine the Weds. ladies Bible study and June's group so that Rena, Susan and I can help June. Also, Seann will join with us as there are guys in the group as well. If everyone comes, there will be 12 of us! This is really exciting, and exactly the kind of thing we've been praying for (i.e. training others to start their own groups). Mine and Seann's role will be to support the work. We've made it very clear to June that she is the leader of the group. Rena is really excited about helping out with the group, as well. We'd like to see Rena and June working more closely together over the next couple of months, with Rena becoming the co-leader of the group. Knowing how gifted June is, I'm personally looking forward to watching and learning from her as she shares the Gospel with her fellow Taiwanese.
