Sunday group
Hi, all. Last week, we talked with some of the folks about whether or not to continue meeting on Sunday. Turn out has been pretty low lately, and we still believe strongly that it's the small groups that meet during the week that are the most important. We concluded, however, that we would continue the Sunday group if only for fellowship together and to bring non-believers who might not be able to make the weekday meeting.

This past Sunday, Anica, a new believer, brought her brother, Chun-siang. In fact, Chun-siang asked Anica if he could go with her! Also, Dora came for the first time in addition to some of our regular folks (June, A-ka, etc.). Chun-siang is a pretty quiet guy, so it was hard to guage what he thought. Keep him in your prayers and also Anica as well. She has not been a believer for long and is starting to experience some doubt. Pray that she would continue to talk about these doubts with other believers openly so they can help and that she would be a witness to her brother and the rest of her family.

June's restaurant
Hi, folks. June opens up her new restaurant today, but there have been some problems that you can pray about. One of June's friends, who used to be a spirit medium, insists that June needs to do the spirit worship, including burning the spirit money. June told her point blank that she is a Christian and does not want to worship any other god. The woman, however, feels that it is her duty to "save" June. Consequently, when we got to June's restaurant to pray for the opening, the lady and one of her friends was in front of the store burning the spirit money and doing the worship. June was not yet at the store, so she had no idea. When we told June about it, she was pretty upset. In this situation, however, there is not much she can do. When Seann later talked with Dong-dong about how rude it seemed to us that the ladies would continue to do the worship despite June's insistence that they not, he just sighed and said, "It is very Taiwanese for them to go ahead and do it." Pray for June as she tries to address the issue with these ladies. Pray for her witness as well. She is praying that her new restaurant will be a place where people can hear the Gospel. However, if they are seeing spirit worship going on, it will be very confusing for them.
