Short term team Update
2008/07/27
Thanks to all who prayed for this weekend's kids
camp! During church on Sunday, we prayed that the
rain would stay away until the camp was over at 6:00.
When we got to the park to set up at 3:30, it started
to sprinkle a little bit, and we began to talk about
how to move the kids to a local church that had given
us permission to use their facilities. However, the
sprinkling of rain quickly passed, and we continued
with the activities. We all kept praying that the
rain would stay away just long enough to complete the
camp.
At about 5:45, we saw a couple of rainbows in the sky and knew that rain was not far away. However, the rain did not come until about 6:30, after the program was completed and everything was cleaned up! Praise God! This was also a testimony to two new ladies who came to church on Sunday and then to the kids camp in the afternoon. They really went away thinking, "Wow, their God is pretty powerful!"
We aren't sure, yet, how the typhoon will effect plans for Monday and Tuesday. Continue to keep these next few days in your prayers.
Because the last typhoon just over a week ago was so devastating, people are really concerned about this one. The news this evening had reports of people fighting in the markets to grab fresh vegetables and fruit because these items' prices sky rocket after a typhoon. Evacuations of some low-lying areas have already been made. Please keep Taiwan and its people in your prayers. May disasters like these only make them turn to the One True God who created the seas.
